A Tribute to a brother, Friend and a Professional Fellow

By Chima, Maduka James
I write this today with a heavy heart and eyes filled with tears for a light turned off at the point when it should be shining most, but then just like a song writer said, Fading away like the stars in the morning, Losing their light in the glorious sun. Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling, only remembered for what we have done. Only remembered, only remembered, only remembered for what we have done. Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling,

Only remembered for what we have done. Onyedika Igili a shining light has faded away but he still lives in our hearts because he really did shine and we have been affected by his radiance. He was this person that cares about the welfare of others and also teaches same, I remember then when we were in the higher institution; he would always ask me “where is your room mate?” that question knock into head the need to always be in the know of the welfare of others which naturally we might not care about considering we can become so busy overwhelmed with our activities that we forget to check up on others.
Onyedika Igili was a veteran committed towards the development of the nation through great technological developments. He was so passionate about coming up with solutions that will ease complex processes in the Nigerian technological ecosystem and you could see this in him right back from our school days. This passion to bring about a change was the reason behind all that he did and developed over the years.
I count it a great privilege to have come in contact with this great person with a great personality, although much too short, his, was a life well lived. Onyedika Igili will be missed by many but never to be forgotten by those who have known him!
